  A pair of North Face boots we bought 3 years ago had ripped terribly along the seem at the top of the boot. My wife hadn't worn the boots more than a dozen times. The staff at the store said this rip happened to all of these boots but they have since fixed the design. Oh thanks. They admitted the design of the boot was defective and had a known deficiency but the boot only had a one year warranty so they didn't care. We asked for a discount since the last pair broke. If they knew it was a bad design they should have offered a discount. Known to be defective but TNF doesn't care? Shop at REI. I've had defective products that are 10 years old that they accepted back for a full refund!
